A winter storm is blazing its way towards southwest MI, causing the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Weather Advisory from 3AM -7PM Monday.

It is in effect from Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning. As far as amounts we are thinking 2-4 inches for most areas with the system snow, then lake-effect could bring another 4-8 inches, perhaps higher in spots in the main lake effect areas. The lake-effect snow will taper off Tuesday evening.

The advisory is for Monday into Monday night.

Winter precipitation will overspread the area on Monday as low pressure tracks northeast up the Ohio Valley.
