Broadway actress Laurel Griggs dead at age 13

According to Digital Memorial, Griggs passed away on Tuesday, November 5. She also spent almost two years, between 2013 and 2015, performing as Ivanka in the Tony-award winning Once the Musical and had two uncredited appearances on the long-running NBC late-night sketch series Saturday Night Live in 2017. She performed the role for 17 months while also being at school full time.

Eliza Holland Madore, who also played Ivanka in "ONCE", paid tribute to Griggs on Instagram.

"I am deeply saddened by the sudden loss of one of my Ivanka sisters. Laurel- you were always smiling and always made other people laugh", Madore wrote.

As expected, those close to Griggs have already begun sharing tributes to her across social media. I'm so incredibly grateful I got to know you. "My heart goes out to the Griggs family", someone tweeted on November 10. "We will never forget this sweet, talented young soul", he said in part. Laurel was a handsome 13 year old girl who was smart and immensely talented.

She had a very successful career for someone who was so young.

Young Broadway Actors News wrote on Facebook that Griggs was a "brilliant young lady" whose "talent, wisdom, and kindness were gifts to the theater community". "We send our condolences to her loved ones at this hard time".
