4 dead, 3 injured in shooting in Brooklyn

An early morning shooting in Brooklyn on Saturday left four men dead and three other people injured, a spokesman for the New York Police Department said.

The shooting happened just before 7 a.m. Saturday. They estimate that at least 15 people were inside the location at the time of the shooting.

Victims of the incident were transported to Kings County Hospital and Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth person was injured, suffering from a leg injury while attempting to flee.

Further details have not yet been released. The remaining reside in different parts of Brooklyn. The four men who died ranged in age from 32 to 49, NBC New York reported.

Officers based three blocks away at the NYPD 77th Precinct raced to the scene after having responded to a shooting elsewhere. but it was initially unclear what sparked the shooting.

Preliminarily, the shooting appears to have occurred at "some sort of social club", Magoolaghan said. The gambling operation was unlicensed, but police had not previously received any complaints about the location, authorities said.

Two firearms were recovered on the scene.

The Citizen user's video also shows police with a man in handcuffs.

Community Advocate Tony Herbert has spoken out against the violence.
