Money's cancer battle will be documented in the last six episodes of his reality series and also show how his family is dealing with the diagnosis.

He's had numerous health problems recently including heart valve surgery earlier this year and pneumonia after the procedure, leading to his cancellation of a planned summer tour. I'll take every day I can get.

Money scored his first hit in the late 1970s with "Baby Hold On".

The track featured Ronnette's front woman Ronnie Spector, but Money had to put in work to convince Spector, then 43, to dust off her microphone and head back into the studio with him. "I've had more fun in that town than I can ever tell you", Money told the Tribune-Review ahead of the concert. It included the now classic hit, "Two Tickets to Paradise". He later spoofed the song in a popular TV commercial for the insurance company, GEICO. In 1980, he sustained nerve damage in his legs after overdosing on alcohol and barbiturates, a near-tragedy he wrote about on his hit 1982 album No Control. In 2001, he joins a 12-step program for alcohol/drug addiction recovery. His career spanned more than 4 decades and he sold over 28 million records. He worked the Berkeley club circuit for years and eventually earned the attention of legendary promoter Bill Graham, who signed Money to his management company.

The official synopsis of Season 2 of Real Money: "Real Money captures the daily lives of the Money family-which includes Eddie; Laurie, his wife of over 30 years; their five kids, Zach, Joe, Jesse, Dez, and Julian; and ten pets-as they live, laugh, bicker, and rock under one roof". "We were supposed to have six dates (with the Stones), and we only worked four". "I don't want to retire, because I get the chance to dress up, I can shave and shower and get a haircut and go out there and do Two Tickets to Paradise and Baby Hold On and the fans love it".
