Manchester City reportedly reached out to former PSG right-back Dani Alves prior to Brazil's Copa America-winning campaign.

Manchester City intend to offer a 36-year-old football player a one-year contract.

Dani Alves remains a proven victor and, with the Copa America victory, became just the second footballer in history to win 40 trophies.

Alves' main objective is to be involved for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and he knows that for this to happen he must be playing regularly for a club and at the top end of the footballing pyramid.

While Globoesporte reference Manchester City's previous interest in Alves, journalist Ducan Castles has thrown Spurs into the mix. The first of this very big trophy haul came back in 2006 during his spell at Sevilla as they won the UEFA Cup. He's coming off a 3-goal, 8-assist season with PSG in which he played more than 2200 minutes despite missing the first three months of the season after knee surgery.

And should Dani Alves decide to make a move to the Etihad stadium, then he will provide much-needed high-quality competition for right-back Kyle Walker and Danilo.
