Driver cited after using case of beer as toddler’s booster seat

Officers in Ontario, Canada pulled over a 22-year-old driver after a 2-year-old was found riding on a case of beer.

Police in Canada made a unique traffic stop.

While they were talking to the driver, they noticed something odd about the young passenger.

Police posted a picture of the DIY auto seat to remind drivers that children under 40 pounds require a child seat, and children under 8 years of age, under 80 pounds or shorter than 4 feet 9 inches must have a booster seat.

The department added in a later tweet that the case was "factory sealed", which meant the driver was not charged with an open container violation.

Under Canadian law, children under 40 pounds must be in a child seat, and kids under 8 years old must use a booster seat in a auto.
