"But, you know, we've got a few more games to worry about before I start focusing on All Star Weekend".

Thibault is coaching his third All-Star Game. She is averaging 16 points per game (seventh in the WNBA) for the 7-8 Liberty, who play in Chicago on Friday night. She is shooting 41.2 per cent form the floor, 35.8 per cent from three-point range and 91.8 per cent from the free-throw line. She has started all 15 games for NY this season. She was named the Western Conference Player of the Month for June.

"Nurse is somebody who can handle (playing 40 minutes), and still push through", Liberty head coach Katie Smith said after the first instance, a 75-69 win anchored by another 26 from Nurse.

"She plays hard all the time", Nurse's teammate Asia Durr noted earlier this season. "It's a chance to hang out with the best players".

The WNBA announced Las Vegas Aces head coach Bill Laimbeer and Washington Mystics head coach Mike Thibault would serve as head coaches for the game.

The All-Star Game is slated for July 27 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

Three members of the local Aces were named starters.

The top two vote getters, frontcourt players Elle Delle Donne of the Washington Mystics and A'ja Wilson of Las Vegas, will act as captains for two teams and draft their rosters next week.

Natasha Howard of Seattle, Connecticut's Jonquel Jones, Liz Cambage of Las Vegas and Brittney Griner of Las Vegas are the other frontcourt starters. Howard and Nurse are the only ones making their All-Star debuts. This time she'll be facing a team captained by A'ja Wilson. The two captains were chosen by virtue of having the most votes from fans.

The 10 starters for AT&T WNBA All-Star 2019 - announced earlier today on ESPN's The Jump - were selected by a combination of fans (50 percent of the vote), current WNBA players (25 percent) and a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters (25 percent). ABC will televise the game at 3:30 p.m. ET.
