The director of the youth-oriented South Florida nonprofit Miami All Stars told TPM Wednesday that he hadn't known when he signed on that the event was organized by a local strip club and would feature exotic dancers as caddies.

"Due to the climate of everything surrounding our golf tournament Shadow Cabaret has chose to cancel this event", Mancuso said in a statement.

A strip club in the Miami area is set to hold a golf event at one of President Donald Trump's resorts on Saturday, in which participants can pay for one of the dancers to be their "caddy girl", The Washington Post reported.

"They're going to be clothed the whole time" at the golf course, Mancuso said.

Mancuso said the dancers would drive a golf cart and not carry golf bags as some caddies do.

"They're actually going through training, most of the girls", he said, so they can better advise players on shots.

The Trump Organization told the Post in a statement that the event is for a "worthwhile cause", and an unnamed spokeswoman for the organization told the paper that the company "had not approved the tournament's advertisements before they were published". Online advertisements for the tournament also include logos for the Jr.

The charity's website says it is "a non-profit organization under the laws of the State of Florida".

Alamilla claims that Mancuso never told him he was involved with a strip club and that when he read the Post's report, he canceled the nonprofit's affiliation. He said the group provides mentoring, tutoring, and basketball lessons to about 40 young people.

He devoted a significant portion of the story trying to make the point that the Trump organization has stooped to holding such events because of financial reasons. The Trump Organization said in a statement carried by USA media that since "the charity has removed its affiliation, the event will no longer be taking place at our property and all amounts paid will be refunded". "He's contrary to everything we believe", he said of the president.

Our intention was to raise money for a deserving local charity.

"We're not participating, and I think you should cancel the event", Alamilla said he told the tournament's organizers. "But if we can get some help, you know, for our programs starting now ... it would be OK".
