As the game progresses, there will be periodical summaries of how each player has fared during Man of Medan.

Supermassive Games announced The Dark Pictures Anthology in 2018.

Supermassive Games have announced their upcoming opener to their horror anthology The Dark Pictures, Man of Medan, will be receiving two multiplayer modes, Shared Story and Movie Night.

The second mode is known as "Movie Night", which is a mode built for couch co-op. It's a local experience, so you simply pass the pad to the next player when it's their turn.

Shared Story Mode allows you to play the story at the same time alongside another person by connecting online.

Man of Medan is the first entry in Supermassive's planned eight-part anthology, The Dark Pictures. It will also provide updates on how well each player is performing. Every game in the anthology will be a new story in a new horror genre, with the only major aspect tying them together being The Curator, a mysterious figure cut from the same cloth as Rod Serling in the Twilight Zone, or the Crypt Keeper in Tales from the Crypt. Each player must be assigned to a specific character, so everyone will have an impact on the story.

Of course, it definitely was not easy creating a narrative-driven title such as Man of Medan with multiplayer. "We believe that it will surprise, and they'll find it to be a fresh experience in gaming". If you've played Until Dawn, then you should definitely think about checking this one out. "We have them mapped out for the first eight".

The Fan Carpet and The Killer Spotlight's Jonathan Hughes was in attendance at the Preview event for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan.

Things inevitably go wrong and it will be up to you to decide what happens next, and with Man of Medan having more branching paths than Supermassive's previous games, there will be plenty of replayability on hand, and Samuel's advice is simple: "Don't".

Releasing August 30th on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
