Trump's 'Dangerous' With Accusation of 'Virtual Treason — NYTimes

President Trump was in a Twitter frenzy Saturday night, taking to his social media to blasting the "Failing New York Times" for "treason" after they ran a story about increased cyber attacks on Russian Federation. The unprecedented move means that USA is now poised to conduct cyber-strikes in the event of a major conflict between the United States and Russian Federation.

Trump was complaining about a Times story on the USA government's escalating attacks on Russia's power grid-which included a tidbit revealing that officials were anxious Trump would put a stop to such attacks.

Trump continued with a tirade on the "Corrupt News Media" of today.

Adam Schiff, the Democratic chair of the House Intelligence Committee, said he was disturbed by a report in The New York Times that said military and intelligence officials avoid giving President Trump detailed briefings on measures to counter Russian Federation in cyberspace because they fear he may discuss them with foreign leaders. Trump wrote on his Twitter page on late Saturday.

According to the Times, the increasingly targeting Russia's electric power grid and has even gone as far as to install debilitating code inside it.

The New York Times, Washington Post and other publications have issued numerous investigative reports into Mr Trump and his administration, with probes also under way by Congressional committees.

Trump has lashed back at The Times, accusing the newspaper of committing a "virtual act of treason" over its reporting.

"America's founders believed that a free press was essential to democracy because it is the foundation of an informed, engaged citizenry", he said in a statement.
