Few expected Ukraine and Korea to be battling it out in the final match of the tournament.

Ukraine have clinched the under-20 World Cup title for the first time after a 3-1 comeback win over fellow first-time finalist South Korea.

And with 11 minutes left on the clock before the half-time break, Vladyslav Supriaha netted the all-important equalizer from close range, with both teams going into the break with one goal apiece.

Kang-In Lee helped Korea race to the lead when he put the ball into Ukraine's net from the penalty spot in the fifth minute.

However, Ukraine levelled in the 34th minute, Supriaha turning and prodding in after the Korean defence had failed to clear a free-kick.

The first half ended 1-1 with all to play for in the second stanza.

Korea nearly equalised at 2-1 but 20-year-old Lunin, who spent last season on loan with Leganes in La Liga, brilliantly tipped Lee Jae-ik's header on to the crossbar.

Heorhiy Tsitaishvili popped up in the 89th minute to kill the game off with Ukraine's third.

France, Argentina, and Portugal had been among the other nations taking part in Poland.

Ukraine had finished top of a group also containing the United States, Nigeria, and Qatar, before seeing off Panama, Colombia and then Italy on their way to the final.
