Mendy signing to take Real's summer spend past €330m

Mendy's signing takes Los Blancos' summer spending spree in excess of €330m.

Operation Paul Pogba is only getting underway and the Frenchman could set the club back as much as 150m euros more, although Real Madrid will do all they can to cut costs in his signing. Now that the move has been completed, the club have released this statement via their official website.

Los Blancos announced the arrival of the France global on a deal until June 2025, with Lyon confirming they have received €48 million (A$78 million) up front with a further €5 million (A$8 million) in add-ons.

"The player will be linked to the club for the next six seasons, until June 30, 2025".

"Mendy will be presented on Wednesday the 19th of June at 1:00pm CEST in the VIP box at the Santiago Bernabéu. Subsequently, Mendy will step on the turf of Santiago Bernabéu for the first time wearing the Real Madrid CF jersey and will attend the media in the press room".

Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard are already confirmed arrivals, from Eintracht Frankfurt and Chelsea respectively, while Santos wonderkid Rodrygo is also expected to complete his move to the Bernabeu over the summer.
