The five-episode season will premiere August 6.

It seems just like yesterday we were introduced to Devon Cajuste, Brogan Roback, Bob Wylie and Carl Nassib's fuzzy math on the Browns season on "Hard Knocks".

The New York Giants have avoided HBO's "Hard Knocks" for yet another year, as the always entertaining and dysfunctional Oakland Raiders have been given the honors in 2019. This much is certain: they will be Oakland Raiders.

"Everybody wants to be a Raider", Raiders owner Mark Davis said in a release.

Dysfunction makes for compelling television, and the Raiders have plenty of that.

The 14th edition of the popular cinéma vérité series will track the daily lives and routines of the team's established veterans, rookie hopefuls and free-agent acquisitions under Jon Gruden, who is beginning the second year of his second stint as head coach.

In addition to Brown, the Raiders also added former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict and guard Richie Incognito - two players with checkered pasts.

If history is any indication, the team should benefit from the cameras at training camp.

It's a Hard Knocks life for the Oakland Raiders.

On the heels of a 4-12 season, Gruden and Raiders GM Mike Mayock made some puzzling selections among their three first-round picks at the 2019 National Football League draft - after sending all of the team's scouts home - and then added mercurial receiver Antonio Brown after his unceremonious exit from Pittsburgh.
