James Charles vs. Tati Westbrook

"When I made that video, I thought that I would be the one to take the hit".

While some may think the apology has come a bit late as Charles has arguably already suffered catastrophic damages from her first video, fans applauded Westbrook in the comments for being "the bigger person".

Now though, Westbrook - who saw her YouTube subscribers double from five million to 10 million during the saga - is pleading with people to "please stop" the "abuse", explaining she'd never intended for anything of "this magnitude" to occur. "I don't think anyone deserves that", she said.

And without using up the entirety of my real estate here to outline the finer points of this very public kerfuffle between the high-profile ex-BFFs (thank you for fielding this one, Buzzfeed), suffice it to say, it's a classic tale of influencer infighting - which, I checked, is also a thing. "."What has that to do with Tati's brand?"

The feud began in April, when Charles posted to his Instagram stories about Sugar Bear Hair, a competitor to Westbrook's Halo Beauty line. I really hope on both sides it can stop.

Westbrook continued by emphasizing that people need to be accountable for their actions, that she has tried to communicate with Charles, and that she did not release the initial video for followers or attention.

"It is about a lot and about things I didn't even address in the video", Westbrook said.

'I'm not defending James Charles, ' Logan explained, 'I'm saying, [go] easy when you puff your chest out, put your chin up, and call him a sexual predator'. That is not why I made the video. "The drawn-out drama of narrative is edited out for efficiency; a well-crafted fight video boasts a steady hand, ideally a landscape orientation, and a short (data-plan-friendly) runtime". The beauty blogger wanted to remind her followers that she "doesn't hate" Charles and there is "no celebration in what's happening".

"This has all gotten really, really insane", Westbrook said after detailing how if she had wanted to take Charles down she would have gone to studios and talked more.

"Y'all feel so empowered when you call James Charles a sexual predator".

The rules and rhythms of YouTube celebrity are still being written, but if the disciplining of James Charles has taught us anything, it's that there are certain unspoken rules that seem to resonate in this world: Don't betray your friends. "I loved him from the moment I met him".

The "crime" in question was a barrage of accusations after OG beauty guru Tati Westbrook dropped a bombshell of a YouTube video.

"What sucks the most is that there is nothing I can say or do to ever earn that friendship or trust back, but I don't blame them for it", he continued. "I wish I can say this is the last time I'm going to make a mistake, but it won't be".
