A press conference resembling a campaign event on the "NYC Green New Deal" that the mayor held in Trump Tower turned to chaos as supporters of President Trump heckled him, CBS New York reported.

A spy told Page Six the couple were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary at The River Café in Brooklyn on Tuesday night when an eagle-eyed patron approached de Blasio and asked him if he was going to "announce" anything soon.

But at 5:18 p.m. ET Wednesday, high school journalist Gabe Fleisher - who authors a daily political newsletter - noticed that de Blasio had a event planned in Sioux City, IA this Friday. But forcing a pop-up press conference in our lobby is simply childish.

De Blasio responded, again attacking the Trump organization and accusing the president of tax evasion.

"(4/4) Maybe one of these days we can work together, an invitation which remains open to you anytime. Other signs said "worst mayor ever" and "Trump 2020". "I look forward to his presidential run being even less successful than his time as mayor... if that's even possible". "Crime is up, the men & women of the NYPD detest you, homelessness is rampant, our streets are dirty and people are leaving our city in record numbers", Trump wrote on Twitter.

Replying to Eric Trump, de Blasio wrote: "Spare me". You can't hide from climate change, Eric.

Seventy-six percent of registered NY voters told Quinnipiac in April they wanted de Blasio to stay put at City Hall, while only 18 percent said they would like to see him mount a White House bid.
