Rafael Benitez will hold crunch talks with Newcastle owner Mike Ashley next week to reach a decision over his future. "I thought it was a great team performance and we thoroughly deserved the three points".

Things got worse for the hosts just 124 seconds later when Rico fumbled Christian Atsu's low effort into the path of Perez, who prodded home from close range for his sixth goal in his last five Premier League games. "We have plenty of time to enjoy, I have been very clear about the potential of this club". I don't want to keep talking, we'll see what happens next week. "And, if he makes the final 23 for the tournament, as he nearly certainly will, then Rondon could be in Brazil until the end of the first week of July - which is after Newcastle resume pre-season training".

Jonjo Shelvey and Ayoze Perez put the visitors two goals ahead after little more than 10 minutes, before Fabian Schar and Salomon Rondon rounded off a fine 4-0 victory after half time.

As questions were fired here and there about both his future as boss and Mike Ashley's presence at Sunday's game, Benitez responded: "He [Ashley] said thank you to the players in the dressing room".

'I've been trying to do my best to give them something back. "Proud and really pleased yes, but it was not the flawless game".

'The fans were fantastic.

Fulham away from how won't be easy, though, as the Cottagers have played without pressure in the last few weeks and have picked up three wins in their last four games. Everything has been positive'. Parker was on Friday appointed as their permanent manager after a spell in caretaker charge.

"We will have a meeting hopefully next week and we will see where we are", Benitez said.

'Saying that, we were lacklustre and lacked a final third threat and lacked conviction at times.

'There were some real pleasing things in terms of the performance, but there were some glaring things that stand out'.
