A close alpha launched with that announcement, but after that, The Pokemon Company went radio silent on the game.

Developed by Ambrella, Pokemon Rumble Rush is a free-to-play spin-off based on the canned - or evolved - Pokeland.

In any case, The Pokemon Company explained in a blog post today that players will earn equippable items called gears as they explore each island. In it, you control a Pokemon as they battle through stages, picking upgrade materials along the way - similar to the Wii's Pokemon Rumble.
