Given that we've already had games based on Star Wars' original trilogy, prequels, Clone Wars and The Force Awakens, it always stood to reason that we'd eventually see games based on The Last Jedi and/or The Rise of Skywalker. /Film recently had a chance to chat with Daisy Ridley, who portrays Rey in the current Star Wars saga.

"J.J. had told me [the ending], and then I read the script, and then it was sort of shifting", said Ridley. Because it's nice to be told the thing and then you can like experience it with the filmmaker. We had Janina Gavanker mentioning the Horizon Zero Dawn sequel, and Skywalker Sound's Matt Wood has also seemingly confirmed the existence of a new Lego Star Wars title. We did the thing on this side of the camera, so we don't know how it's gonna turn out. But he left citing creative differences, particularly with scripts that Lucasfilm's Kathleen Kennedy didn't like. Apparently Lucasfilm wasn't happy with the direction Trevorrow was going in and opted for Abrams' alternate vision.

Here's hoping some light will be shed on all the possibilities considered for ending the Skywalker saga after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters this December, because I love me some alternative movie history.

Of course, The Rise of Skywalker is now in the midst of post-production and it'd be surprising if there wasn't additional photography (as is standard nowadays on films of this scale), so it's possible the film's ending changes even further.

What do you think about this decision?
