She is widely referred to as North Korea's "princess" and has accompanied Kim Jong Un to multiple global events, including the North Korean leader's recent summit with President Donald Trump in Vietnam.

Washington's Centre for Strategic and International Studies, a think tank in the United States, said the satellite imagery of the Yongbyon nuclear site from April 12 showed five specialised railcars near its Uranium Enrichment Facility and Radiochemistry Laboratory. Pompeo continued that while Kim "said he wanted it done by the end of the year", he would "love to see that done sooner", indicating the possibility of a third summit within the year.

"The current activity, along with their configurations, does not rule out their possible involvement in such activity, either before or after a reprocessing campaign".

While speaking at Texas A&M University Monday, Pompeo said the US has made the most progress in getting Kim Jong-un to make a strategic shift toward denuclearization.

But a source familiar with U.S. government assessments said that while United States experts thought the movements could possibly be related to reprocessing, they were doubtful it was significant nuclear activity. Trump also said they were discussing "certain" humanitarian assistance to the North, such as South Korea providing food aid, saying, "You have to be okay with that".

Trump has met Kim twice in the past year to try to persuade him to abandon a nuclear weapons program that threatens the United States, but progress so far has been scant.

The US president walked away from a partial deal proposed by Kim, which included an offer to dismantle the Yongbyon complex.

North Korea suspended nuclear and missile testing during the diplomatic process in 2018 but the International Atomic Energy Agency has said there were indications that Yongbyon has been in use as recently as the end of February.

Last month, a senior North Korean official warned that Kim might rethink the test freeze unless Washington made concessions.

Kim was, however, seen at some party meetings, at a session of the Supreme People's Assembly, and in a photo of "members of the newly elected party and state leading organs", NK News said - suggesting that she has not been left out in the cold completely.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is expressing confidence President Trump will be successful in getting North Korea to denuclearize.

This would signify, he said, that "North Korea no longer had a nuclear weapons program or a weapons of mass destruction program" and "the opportunity to verify that that was the case, so we knew we weren't taking anyone's word for that".

"It would underscore that it is an active facility that does increase North Korea's fissile material stocks to increase its arsenal". "I look forward to the day, which could be soon, when Nuclear Weapons and Sanctions can be removed, and then watching North Korea become one of the most successful nations of the World!"

Experts have estimated the size of North Korea's nuclear arsenal at anywhere between 20 and 60 warheads.
