West prevously served as CTO of inifity Ward before he later founded Respawn Entertainment with Vince Zampella. If this report is to be believed, Keighley says that West will now work with Epic in the pursuit of developing new games.

At the moment, those efforts primarily revolve around Fortnite.

Epic Games is known for their poaching skills, getting even the best of developers to become exclusive to their DRM.

Jason West has been idle for the past few years since 2013 after he left gaming altogether. With co-founder of Infinity Ward and Respawn Entertainment Jason West working with the company. What that could be, however, is unknown. It was not clear whaat Jason West was set to do after leaving Respawn.

Jason West was one of the original founders of Infinity Ward and one of the creators of Call of Duty franchise. Epic Games' Fortnite has more than 200 million players on PC, consoles, and mobile devices, and in 2018, it made $2.4 billion from sales of cosmetics and its battle pass. The game recently received a patch that added a respawn system to the Battle Royale mode. From what I hear West, who lives in North Carolina, has been in the office for about a month. Considering his pedigree, it's not hard to see why. Some will be wondering if Epic Games hiring of West means that the developer wants to make a gritty, military shooter.
