Like the 1660 Ti, the standard 1660 is built on NVIDIA's Turing GPU architecture, so it shares something with the company's top-of-the-line RTX cards.

ASUS today announced GeForce GTX 1660 graphics cards, adding new products into the TUF Gaming and Phoenix lineups.

The GTX 1660 is the same TU116 GPU as on the 1660 Ti but with a few modifications. It also comes with 6GB of 8Gbps GDDR5 memory on a 192-bit memory interface. The GTX 1660 Ti's superiority is clearly demonstrated in the memory specifications.

Price-wise, the GeForce GTX 1660 also has a lower starting price of United States dollars 219 (about RM 896) as compared to GTX 1660 Ti which starts at USD 279 (~RM 1141).

Both cards have a TDP of 120W and can be powered from a single 8-pin connector. Against Steam's most popular card, the GeForce GTX 1060, the company says the GeForce GTX 1660 is: "on average 30% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060 3GB and 15% faster than the GeForce GTX 1060 6GB at 1080p resolution". But at the £200 price mark, it looks to be a good mid-range GPU that will rival the likes of AMD's Radeon RX 590 and will be a direct replacement for the excellent but now oldish GeForce GTX 1060.

We were informed that GTX 1660 will be made available through NVIDIA GeForce Official Store on Lazada Malaysia soon as well.
