Bayern Munich boss Niko Kovač insists his side can not compete with Europe's top clubs following their Champions League exit against Liverpool. "We are doing well, we are having a good season and we are in a good place now in the sense of the football that we are playing". Ajax last won the Champions League in 1995, while Manchester United last won in 2008 and Juventus most recently won in 1996. The second leg matchups are on April 16 and April 17. The victor of Tottenham and City takes on the victor of Juventus and Ajax.

Sergio Conceicao's team overcame Roma in the last round, and they have the experience of goalkeeper Iker Casillas, Pepe and Hector Herrera in their squad, but it is hard to suggest that Liverpool are anything other than overwhelming favourites to book a semifinal meeting against either Manchester United or Barcelona.

Despite just a single point gap at the top of the standings, Manchester City remain -275 favorites to win the league while Liverpool are +225. "That will not happen this year, for sure".

However, things could get a little tight around the midfield as Naby Keita faces a late fitness test in order to prove that he's recovered from the niggle that kept him out of the Bayern Munich game.

The Blues needed a goal in the 90th minute to eke out a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton as heavy -169 home favorites in their last league outing last weekend, and were outgunned by a 12-0 overall margin in three straight road matches prior to a 2-1 win at Fulham on March 3.

Liverpool were drawn to play FC Porto in the knockout rounds for the second year in succession, as Ajax's reward for eliminating the holders Real Madrid is a two-legged tie against Cristiano Ronaldo and Juventus.

Pep Guardiola accepts that, should Manchester City not win the Champions League, it will be called a disaster by many - something he disagrees with.

"It [leaving] will cross his mind without a shadow of a doubt because he's done what he's set out to do went there". But for United to reach the semifinals for the first time since 2011, they will have to pull off one of the biggest results in their European history.
