As part of his introductory interview with Patriots.com, Bennett revealed that he used to be a Patriots hater, but now his viewpoint has changed. But it's a little different once you're wearing their uniform.

Bennett had a successful 2016 season with New England, when he had 55 receptions for 701 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, and helped them win Super Bowl LI. I'd hate it that [Bill] Belichick would wear sweaters. But now that I'm here, I love it.

Bennett got the ball rolling on the Patriots/"Star Wars" connection this week by comparing head coach Bill Belichick to Yoda, the wise Jedi Master. I love Tom Brady's hair. "I think I love that". It's all about winning.

That hatred quickly turned to love for the defensive end, though, when he was traded from the Eagles to the Patriots last week.

Bennett said he hated the Patriots "even more" when his brother Martellus played for them. "Now I gotta get it back".

Bennett has always been a polarizing figure in the NFL due to his outspoken nature, especially when it comes to issues that transcend football. He made nine sacks in 2018 and his 30 quarterback hits were fourth-best in the league.

While Bennett is happy to be with the Patriots, he hasn't always been a fan of the team.
