The countdown is well and truly on for the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, and it has now been confirmed that the new episodes will be aired in Ireland at the exact same time as North America.

According to fansite Winter Is Coming, the HBO schedule has revealed that the first of Game of Thrones' final six episodes will run for 54 minutes. Episode three follows on Sunday, April 28 clocking in at longest, an hour and 22 minutes. However, it does prove that the majority of the final episodes will be as long or a little longer, than the show's previously record-holder: Season 7's finale, "The Dragon and the Wolf", which clocked in at 79 minutes and 43 seconds. While the first two episodes will be around the average Game of Thrones hour, the series' final four episodes will be - as promised - roughly the same runtime as a short feature film. If you're not up for staying up super late/getting up super early, the episode will also be airing on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV at 9pm that evening. All episodes will begin at 9 p.m. on HBO.
