Quinton de Kock turned in another solid batting performance as South Africa made light work of a modest victory target of 190 set by Sri Lanka in the fourth ODI at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth on Wednesday. "They (the batsmen) didn't realise their value and take the opportunity to play a long innings".

Hashim Amla will miss the two remaining ODIs against Sri Lanka after CSA granted him compassionate leave following an illness in his family.

Sri Lanka were 131 for nine when Malinga was out but Udana smashed 55 runs in a 58-run last-wicket partnership with Kasun Rajitha.

The Proteas were never troubled during their reply, with De Kock again getting them off to a strong start, despite the loss off opening partner Reeza Hendricks (8), out cheaply again. The other three runs were extras.

He was named man-of-the-match despite being on the losing side.

"The last two overs didn't go according to plan but it is a nice learning curve", Nortje said after the match.

"I have been working on my batting", he said.

Rixon, the fielding coach, will take charge of the team for the three T20 games between March 19 and 24, Silva said.

"Hashim has asked to be excused from the last two ODI's of the current series against Sri Lanka on compassionate grounds since his dad is now critically ill", Mohammed Moosajee, the South Africa team manager, said.

Captain Faf du Plessis also continued his good run with a quick-fire, easy-on-the-eye 43 while David Miller (25 not out) and JP Duminy (31 not out) appeared to relish a chance to finish the game off.
