Da 5 Bloods follows a group of African-American Vietnam veterans who return to Vietnam and learn to come to terms with each other while they search for the remains of a fellow soldier and hidden gold. Now, we don't know who those actors will be yet, but prior to this announcement, I'd heard that Lee was courting his old pal Samuel L. Jackson, as well as Don Cheadle and Giancarlo Esposito. I was told that he chopped down the cherry tree and wouldn't tell a lie.

Lee penned the script with his "BlacKkKlansman" co-scribe Kevin Willmott based on an original screenplay by Danny Bilson & Paul DeMeo and rewrite by Matthew Billingsly. This is the first time that Lee is working with Netflix. Lee will also produce with Beatriz Levin & Lloyd Levin, and Jon Kilik.

During a Wednesday appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" discussing his film "BlacKkKlansman", director Spike Lee called Christopher Columbus a "terrorist".

Variety reports that production will begin in early March after Spike and Chadwick both wrap up the awards season with the Oscars on 24 February.

Boseman is quite in demand as well, coming off last year's Black Panther, the highest-grossing film of 2018 at the domestic box office, and just the third movie ever to crack $700 million domestic. He's up next in STX's action thriller "17 Bridges" which hits theaters July 12.

Lee is repped by ICM Partners and attorney Robert Strent at Grubman Shire Meiselas & Sacks and Boseman is repped by Greene & Associates Talent Agency, Management 360 and Ziffren Brittenham.

Delroy Lindo and Jean Reno are also attached to star in the film.
