Benjamin Netanyahu has employed harsh rhetoric against Iran for years, but he went a step further on Wednesday, saying that Arab countries participating in a Middle East conference in Warsaw "are sitting down together with Israel in order to advance the common interest of war with Iran".

The comments were made to reporters on the sidelines of the Warsaw Middle East ministerial following Netanyahu's meeting with the Sultanate of Oman's Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, Yusuf bin Alawi.

"We are operating every day, including yesterday, against Iran. Now we say, this is a new era, for the future".

Israel has been increasingly open about carrying out air strikes in Syria with an election looming in April.

Several million Yemenis face starvation and the country has suffered one of the worst cholera outbreaks in modern times as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates - backed by the USA - seek to bomb and blockade the country's Houthi rebels into surrender.

The summit appears to be the first time an Israeli leader and senior Arab officials will attend an worldwide conference centered on the Middle East since the Madrid peace conference in 1991, which set the stage for the landmark Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestinians.

Iran has denounced the conference, which began Wednesday, as an American anti-Iran "circus" and Russian Federation said it would not attend.

"Iran isn't behaving like a normal country".

Wednesday's conference is co-hosted by the US and Poland and its official focus is Mideast peace and security.

Palestinians have been heavily critical of the conference, With officials describing the meeting as an effort by the USA to advance its anti-Palestinian positions.

Transatlantic cooperation was necessary to resolve problems in the Middle East, Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said.

During the conference US President Donald Trump son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, who has been putting final touches on a "deal of the century" for peace between Israel and the Palestinians, will make a rare speaking appearance.
