Mobile World Congress doesn't kick off in Barcelona until next week, but Microsoft dropped a big hint that has made some people wonder whether the company is getting ready to debut Hololens 2, which would be the latest version of its mixed reality eyewear.

Microsoft has always been rumoured to be working on a successor to the original HoloLens headset.

Microsoft is nearly certain to announce the long-awaited HoloLens V2 at Mobile World Congress 2019 on the 24th February, and the big question on everyone's mind will be how they solved the Field of View issue which has dogged the handset's reputation since its 2016 launch.

Alex Kipman, Microsoft technical fellow and HoloLens creator, has uploaded a vague 42-second teaser to his YouTube channel simply titled "2.24.19 #MWC19".

As we can see below, there's little else to go off, besides some fibres melding with what appears to be a processor.

This no doubt points to Microsoft's February 24th, 2019 pre-MWC conference, which the company has already confirmed will feature an appearance from Kipman, as well as company CEO Satya Nadella and corporate vice president Julia White.

Despite the lack of details regarding the new Microsoft headset, it is suggested that HoloLens 2 is likely to be more comfortable and support a wider field of view.
