Wells Fargo extends branch hours after mobile system outage

In a release just before midnight Thursday Pacific time, Wells said these systems are working: ATMs; mobile and online banking except for features such as credit card and mortgage balances; credit and debit cards and branch banks.

The Well Fargo site and mobile banking app were suffering an apparent outage Thursday.

Wells Fargo bank is extending its hours Friday and Saturday after a power shutdown at one of the bank's facilities affected numerous bank's services. The bank says even though they weren't visible, the transactions were processed normally, and they should now be visible. "This issue has now been corrected, and all transactions are now visible".

Users were still reporting issues to the website Down Detector on Friday and saying the issues were primarily with online banking, the website and mobile banking.

Customers are also threatening to leave Wells Fargo over the outages and are anxious about the safety of their money with the bank.

Whitney Dawe uses the Wells Fargo app every day; he's been banking with them for almost eight years.

The issues come a day after the bank reported a significant outage.

The consensus was their direct deposits were in their accounts, but that information wasn't reflected online. Smoke caused by the maintenance work triggered an automatic power shutdown, and most of the bank's applications were re-routed to back-up data centers.

Business news outlet CNBC reported that the incident happened at a data center in Minnesota at around 5 a.m. CST Thursday and was under control starting at 9 a.m.

"We apologize for the inconvenience caused by these system issues, and we want our customers to know that any Wells Fargo fees incurred as a result of these issues will be reversed".

Twitter complaints about Wells Fargo (WFC) being down were nationwide, particularly in the parts of the country where Wells has a large presence, like the South, California and the East Coast.

Other customers said they weren't at all impacted by the issues.
