A pretty good showing, to be sure, but one which could clearly be improved upon five years later, given that a sizable portion of Hollywood's working actors and actresses are now members of the Marvel family (also worth noting: the Oscars air on ABC, which is owned by Disney; at the end of the day this'd just be good #CorporateSynergy). After Kevin Hart recently stated that he will not take on the gig, after stepping down previously, he made it clear that he will not be entertaining the idea further. "Right now from a time perspective, I don't really have time".

The Hollywood Reporter published an article Thursday claiming producers of the upcoming Academy Awards telecast are scrambling to get as many stars from the "Avengers" franchise as they can to appear on stage at some point. Apparently, some of the cast were even asked to not present of the recent Golden Globes, to hype up their attendance for the Oscars.

"The Academy had been considering welcoming Hart back if he had used the opportunity in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres to demonstrate contrition for his anti-gay jokes and recommit to hosting the show", the Variety report reads.

The 2013 Oscars ceremony, which followed the 2012 release of Avengers, brought Robert Downey, Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson together onstage in a partial cast reunion.
