Five things to know...

Morata has only started 11 of Chelsea FC's 21 Premier League games so far this season and has only managed to net five times in the English top flight.

Antonio Conte signed Olivier Giroud from Arsenal in January previous year to provide competition but the later has scored just one top-flight goals this season.

The Telegraph claims Morata will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge this month if a replacement is signed before the end of January.

The 26-year-old is believed to be keen on returning to Madrid despite playing for Atletico's rivals Real and is enticed by the prospect of working under Diego Simeone.

La Liga salary restrictions mean Atletico would likely have to offload one or two players in order to take on Morata's wages, which are understood to reach £200,000-a-week when bonuses are factored in.

"I don't speak about players that aren't with us, only those that are".

Morata's agent has travelled to London to discuss the possibility of a loan move to Sevilla, while there is also interest from Atletico Madrid and clubs in Italy.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Radio 5 live, Balague said: "Morata wants to leave Chelsea, it has not been the right club for him".

Morata was signed by Chelsea to replace Diego Costa, who rejoined Atletico.

Chelsea had originally been heavily linked with Gonzalo Higuain, but the complicated nature of any such deal given that the player is on loan at AC Milan from Juventus looks to be a problem.

If that happens, Costa could conceivably become surplus to requirements in the Spanish capital.
