The arrival of winter in Westeros made the final season of Game of Thrones especially gruelling, says Jon Snow himself, aka Kit Harington.

The show's hype is exceedingly mounting with every pouring detail that gets leaked with the latest being from Entertainment Weekly that reported the filming of one of the battle scenes from the season to be spanning over several months.

Speaking to GQ Australia, Harrington, who plays the role of Jon Snow in the television series, said, "Everyone was broken at the end". "I don't know if we were crying because we were sad it was ending or if we were crying because it was so (expletive) tiring".

In an interview with GQ Australia, Kit Harington said that the cast of Game of Thrones was done with the show during filming of the eighth and final season, which he said was created to "break" them.

Moreover, he revealed: "I remember everyone walking around towards the end going, 'I've had enough now. I love this, it's been the best thing in my life, I'll miss it one day - but I'm done'". After nine years I'll be at home. "But more than anything else, I thank it for introducing me to her", Harington gushes.

That's right, April sees the final Season of Game of Thrones back on HBO, and if some recent comments from the network's CEO are anything to go by, it's going to be truly special. It won't be here until spring - April 2019, to be precise. Recently, HBO boss Richard Plepler teased the TV show's upcoming eighth and last season, Variety reports.

"It was the first time that I was able to actually direct the premiere episode of the season, so I'm just nervous". The reaction I had while watching them was, 'I'm watching a movie.' They knew the bar was high.
