Indian skipper Virat Kohli has finally broken his silence on the controversy that has engulfed Indian cricket after KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya's appearance on talk show Koffee with Karan.

In the recent episode of Koffee With Karan, Indian cricketers Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were the guests and for his actions on the show, Hardik has been getting a lot of flak on social media for his "misogynist", "sexist", and "racist" comments.

"From the combination and team balance point of view, yes, you'll have to think about the combination you'll need now".

"From the Indian cricket team point of view, any inappropriate comments that are made in that scenario are something that we definitely don't support and the two concerned players felt what has gone wrong and they have understood the magnitude of what's happened", Kohli said at the SCG ahead of the opening ODI against Australia.

Kohli described the news as "unfortunate" and made it clear he - or anyone in the Indian cricket team for that matter - did not agree with the comments shared by the players on the light-hearted television segment that was filmed past year.

As per Committee of Administrators chairman Vinod Rai, Pandya and Rahul's explanations weren't convincing and he recommended two match ban.

The Indian captain was speaking ahead of the first ODI between India and Australia, to be held in Sydney on Saturday. "You don't have control over these things so you have to adjust with the situation and address it the way it comes to you and the way it unfolds".

"It has to hit anyone hard; they will definitely understand the things that have not gone right". "He's performed reasonably well for us in the last little bit since he's made his comeback. We are still waiting for a decision to be made", Kohli told reporters at the SCG. This changes nothing in terms of our beliefs in the change room.

Hardik Pandya may have gotten carried away with the format of the show and made all those comments "in a light-hearted manner" without realising what that the repercussions will be. "It does nothing to the spirit that we've been able to create within the change room and these are purely individual opinions and something which as I said is inappropriate", Kohli added.

The skipper further said that both the players have realized their mistakes before confirming that the team-management is still waiting on the board's decision on the two, "Inappropriate comments and that has been communicated".
