In Botched Delivery, Nurse "Pulls Too Hard" Leaving Baby's Head In Womb

During the time of the delivery, the nurse pulled the foetus so carelessly that it resulted in splitting the body of the baby into two parts.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times Dr Ravindra Sankhla, a gynecologist at Jawahar Hospital said the staff at the health centre informed him that they had completed the delivery but left the placenta in the womb.

A male nurse working at a government medical centre has "decapitated a baby while pulling too hard during a difficult birth".

The carelessness and the insensitivity shown by the accused male nurse and his colleague endangered the life of the mother, who is said to be fighting for her life in the hospital.

A nurse at an Indian hospital has pulled the head off a baby during birth, according to reports.

The alleged incident happened at a government-run health centre in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer district.

The shocking incident took place on January 6.

An Indian nurse allegedly tore the head off an unborn foetus while in the delivery room.

The woman, 24-year-old Deeksha Kanwar, had to be rushed to Jodhpur, where the doctors operated upon her and removed the baby's head.

The family approached the police after doctors at Jodhpur Umaid Hospital informed them about the mishap.

The two nurses have been suspended and an investigation is underway. Chief medical health officer, Jaisalmer, Dr B L Bunkar said, "I visited Ramgarh and investigated the matter".

Woman's husband later lodged a complaint against the Ramgarh hospital staff for alleged dereliction of duty.

No arrest has been made so far, the officer added.

"When questioned, the hospital staffers handed over the lower part of the foetus to us", he said.
