Enes Kanter could be about to leave the New York Knicks

Kanter is due to make $18.6 million this season, while Randolph will be getting $11.6 million.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski says nothing is close as of now in terms of this potential swap of expiring contracts.

Because the Knicks have 15 players on their roster, it means they could not take on another of Sacramento's expiring contracts unless they waive someone.

Knicks center Enes Kanter has not been happy with his role under first-year coach David Fizdale this season. Hence why a third team might be needed.

At 37 years old, Randolph's better days are obviously behind him and it would be shocking if the Knicks attempted to retain him next should they acquire him. After living in the basement of the Western Conference standings for over the last decade, the purple and white are finally a decent team as they stand at a record of 20-21 halfway through their campaign.

Despite limited action, Kanter said that he is happy in NY.

As mentioned in a previous post, there are several unidentified teams interested in trading for Kanter.

With the trade deadline nearby, expect a lot more trade discussions.

Kanter, who has been averaging 14.4 points and 11 rebounds in 26.5 minutes per game this season, was sent to the Knicks from the Thunder as part of the Carmelo Anthony trade in September 2017. But when one looks at the ploys that the Knicks are using, it seems that focus is more on the younger players and planning ahead.
