Benched quarterback Jalen Hurts' time at Alabama may have come to an end.

The Alabama quarterback's name is in the NCAA transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

Local football fans might want to keep an eye on whether new Maryland coach Mike Locksley, who worked with Hurts for three seasons first as Alabama's offensive analyst and then offensive coordinator, would be interested in bringing Hurts in.

His biggest moment was huge for the Tide, though: When Tagovailoa suffered an ankle injury that knocked him from the SEC Championship, Hurts rallied Alabama from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter with a touchdown pass and scoring run. Hurts appeared in every game but two for the Tide and threw for 765 yards and eight touchdowns with two interceptions.

Jalen Hurts remained loyal to Nick Saban and Alabama even after he lost his starting job to Tua Tagovailoa last season, but we may see him playing for a different program in 2019.

The news comes two days after Alabama was routed by Clemson in this year's title game, 44-16.

Where could Hurts land as a transfer?

Averion Hurts, Jalen's father, told Bleacher report previous year that his son could end up being "the biggest free agent in college football history".
