The Acer Predator Triton 500 contains a 15.6 inch screen, which by nature qualifies it as a gaming laptop of the more compact sort. Nvidia's tech models how we view real-world light, though proceed with caution, because only a limited number of games now support ray-tracing. "With breakthrough technologies including real time ray tracing and gext-gen, and ultra-fast GDDR6 memory, gamers can confidently choose the Predator Triton 900 for a robust, feature-rich gaming platform".

There's an avalanche of new gaming notebooks making their debut at CES 2019 now that NVIDIA has unveiled its RTX 20 Series chips for laptops, but Acer is hoping to stand out with a pair of new entries in its Predator Triton series. It features a CNC-machined Ezel Aero Hinge™ that flips, extends, or reclines the 17-inch display. Interestingly, the trackpad is placed on the right side of the keyboard to give users "natural hand placement for gaming using both the keyboard and trackpad". It's also amazingly thin at just 23.75 mm (0.94 inches).

The specs are strong: An Intel Core i7-8750H processor, 16/32GB of RAM, 1TB SSD, and an Nvidia RTX2080 graphics card with 8GB of RAM. Plus, it features an Xbox wireless receiver, so you can use your console's controller for desktop games without having to purchase an additional accessory. There is audio by Waves with Waves Maxx audio system. The utilized metal chassis is also just 17.9 mm thick and it weighs 1.9 kg.

Next, the Predator Triton 500 is equipped with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070/2060 GPU! But though all three can be configured with eighth-gen Intel Core i7 CPUs, only the Predator Triton 500 (for now) offers Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2080 GPUs. The 15.6-inch 300 nits IPS display brings games to life with 144Hz refresh rates in overdrive at 3ms. Add in support for NVIDIA G-Sync, and you've got a pretty darn powerful gaming machine for the road.

And here's an interesting value-add: Later this year, Acer will publish a PredatorSense Mobile app that allows remote control of some of the laptop's functions: overclocking, fan speed, lighting profiles and audio. It will also enable users to view and set customised macro key sets for physical hotkeys.

While the Triton 900 will cater to a small market, consumers who want a traditional clamshell laptop solution can check out the Triton 500, which starts from $1,799.
