According to Disney Channel, Kim Possible kicks off when "Kim and her best friend and sidekick, Ron Stoppable (Sean Giambrone), start Middleton High School, where Kim must navigate an intimidating new social hierarchy".

Kim's day starts to turn around when she and Ron meet and befriend Athena (Ciara Wilson), a new classmate and Kim Possible superfan who is having an even worse day than Kim.

Disney has released the first trailer for its live-action take on Kim Possible, the classic cartoon that ran between 2002 and 2007. Soon, Athena starts to eclipse Kim just as the nefarious Drakken and Shego resurface in Middleton with a master plan to finally stop Kim.

When she's not saving the world, Kim's an everyday high schooler, she's late for class and going toe-to-toe with her frenemy, Bonnie (Erika Tham). And Kim Possible fans shouldn't worry, Rufus, the naked mole-rat, will be there to help Team Possible stop super villains Drakken (Todd Stashwick) and Shego (Taylor Ortega).

The movie includes cameos by animated series cast members Patton Oswalt (the voice of Professor Dementor), and Christy Carlson Romano, the Emmy-nominated actress/singer who voiced Kim in the animated series.

To bring this new version of Kim Possible to life, Disney has tapped a newcomer, Sadie Stanley for the role.

The movie will be immediately followed by a first look at live-action miniseries Fast Layne, which will move to its regular timeslot with episode 2 on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 8 p.m.

The script will be written by Kim Possible creators Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley (Big Hero 6: The Series, The Penguins of Madagascar), and Josh Cagan (The DUFF, Bandslam). Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky (both of Disney XD's MECH-X4) will co-direct and co-produce the film.
