In an interview with EW, he talked about his feelings about the fact it's over: "The truth is, I felt like we had a lot of stories to tell, and although I understand [the cancellation], I'm very saddened by that". He said, "It's just how business works". "These characters mean a lot to people". Most recently, to the surprise of many, Netflix pulled the plug on the show that started it all for this little corner of the Marvel Universe, Daredevil. In its statement after cancelling Daredevil, the network wrote "While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel".

Ever since the very first episode, Charlie Cox's performance as Matt Murdock really captured what made the comic books so beloved. From Cox's solemn quotes, it seems obvious he thinks it's the end.

Cox went on to explain how much he loved playing the character, and even called the gig a "dream job" due to the level of acting and physical skill involved.

Despite the bad news, Cox is hopeful that he'll have an opportunity to continue playing Matt Murdock in the future.

"I hate to be boring, but to be honest, I don't think I should answer that", Cox replied. But he was cautious not to give any hints about what Season 4 might have held, since not only would all of that be parsed / speculated to death by fans, but also because, as he says, "I don't [want to] give any false hope".

Hopefully, Cox and his great cast of co-stars will get their chance to bring their characters to life once again. It's quite painful for quite a lot of people. "Oh my God, yeah", he replies when asked whether he'd be up for returning to the role if given the chance.

Disney has said that we haven't seen the last of the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. "I don't know how this would happen, but maybe one day we could pick up the baton and do it again".
