The scrutiny is mostly centered around Kevin Hart's use of the word "f*G" in several instances dating back to 2009-2011, several of which have been grouped together by media types like Adam B. Vary‏ of BuzzFeed. Instead, the comedian slammed the "craziness", while insisting he has grown and evolved in the past eight years.

"I swear our world is becoming beyond insane", Hart said. I think we love to make big deals out of things that aren't necessarily big deals, because we can. I am truly happy people. there is nothing that you can do to chance that.

At the time, Hart told Rolling Stone that, "I wouldn't tell that joke today, because when I said it, the times weren't as sensitive as they are now".

He continued, "Guys - I'm nearly 40 years old". I'm the wrong guy, man.

"I work hard on a daily basis to spread positivity to all", he declared, once again disregarding the feelings and experiences of many in the LGBTQ community. "If you're not doing that, you're not on my page".

Hart responded in length in his caption as well. If you choose to not believe me then that's on you....

"If u want to search my history or past and anger yourselves with what u find that is fine with me", he writes. Hiding behind his brand of happiness and posi-vibes, he finished by declaring "I live to love", and telling everyone to "Have a attractive day".

The Jumanji star has spoken about that 2010 gay joke before.

When it came to the joke about not wanting his son to be gay, Kevin told Weiner, "It's about my fear". As for the backlash he said, "I get it... At the end of the day, people are people, attacking is attacking".

Within 24 hours of bearing the good news of his appointment as host of the 2019 Academy Awards in February, homophobic from yesteryear have begun to surface online, forcing Hart and his team into a frantic backpedaling motion.
