We're a few months away from the final season of Game of Thrones, where good will take its last stand against the forces of the undead, and we've gotten a gorgeously symbolic teaser for the final battle to come.

The HBO hit released a new preview video Thursday: There's still no new footage (boo) of the forthcoming eighth and final season, but there is a pretty cool sequence that shows some of the series' major families succumbing to an ominous freeze via their easily recognizable mascots.

HBO released the new tease at the São Paulo Expo in Brazil for the Comic Con Experience. We see dragons being victims of ice (no more of that, we beg you) and proud Lannister lions being burned by fire.

The teaser also confirms the next season will premiere in April 2019.

The fire and ice of the trailer are a nod to the George RR Martin book series the show is based on, A Song Of Fire And Ice.

In the previous season of "Game of Thrones", Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) made a decision to join forces (and their loins) to defeat the White Walkers.

It's not safe, however, to be literally anywhere in Westeros, as the Night King and his army of White Walkers are now moving south towards Winterfell, and who knows where else, bringing Winter with them.

"It was the first time that I was able to actually direct the premiere episode of the season, so I'm just nervous".
