The new special marks DeGeneres' long-awaited return to standup in her first comedy special in 15 years, which finds her putting her unique comic spin on topics ranging from Los Angeles traffic to losing her sitcom when she came out all those years ago.

"A friend of mine was at my house and I hold him 'I'm gonna do stand-up again", she explains. "Just then Batu, my butler, stepped into the library".

With comedy special Relatable, Ellen is set to open up about her life's journey, about how she made it as an iconic daytime host, her struggles and her fame.

"I lost my sitcom when I came out", she says.

In the clip, Ellen tells the audience that a station manager told her "no one's going to watch a lesbian during the day". "What time of day is good for a lesbian?'" "I've never been back there". I should never have a horn in my auto. "Like, if someone cuts me off in a risky way, if I honk, they're like, 'Ellen?!'" That's when she playfully recreates having to smile and wave at the aforementioned driver.

Relatable will release on Netflix on December 18.
