Baby ibuprofen recalled from Walmart, CVS, Family Dollar

Tris Pharma, Inc. has voluntarily recalled three lots of Infants' Ibuprofen Concentrated Oral Suspension, 50 mg per 1.25 mL.

The recalled lots of the product have been found to potentially have higher concentrations of ibuprofen.

The release added there is a slight possibility that a higher potency could cause infants to develop permanent renal or kidney injuries. Other possible adverse effects include tinnitus (ringing in the ears), headaches and stomach bleeding.

According to Tris Pharma, they have not received any reports of adverse effects.

The products are used as "a pain reliever/fever reducer", officials say.

At Walmart, the recalled lots are 00717009A (expiry 02/19), 00717015A (expiry 04/19) and 00717024A (expiry 08/19).

08/19, while the recalled lot from Family Dollar is 00717024A with an expiration date of 08/19.

Contact your healthcare provider if your baby has experienced any problems that may be related to using this product.

The product was sold in Walmart under the "Equate" brand, in CVS under the "CVS Health" brand and in Family Dollar under the "Family Wellness" label.
