"On November 13, 2018, we will begin the re-release of the Windows 10 October Update (version 1809), Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server, version 1809", it reads on the Windows 10 update history page.

More than a month after pulling the Windows 10 October Update, build 1809, Microsoft is re-releasing it to the general public.

In terms of Windows 10 version 1809 features, Microsoft is highlighting the dark mode in File Explorer.

Once a product is ready, heading to the settings menu of the system and pressing "check for updates" should present users with a prompt to receive the new operating system.

"Based on this data, today we are beginning the re-release of the October Update by making it available via media and to advanced users who seek to manually check for updates". But, unlike the release earlier this year where Microsoft aggressively rolled out 1803, the company is slowing down the cadence this time around. Whichever supported version of Windows 10 you are running, you should get the updates automatically or you can get them by going to Settings Update & Security Windows Update and each update will slightly bump your build number.

It's no secret that Microsoft has had a few issues with the quality of Windows 10 updates and the company is publicly stating that they are working to improve the hardening of each release before it makes its way to the public. Microsoft "paused" the update while it investigated.

Microsoft's John Cable, director of program management for Windows servicing and delivery, writes that in addition to extensive internal validation, the company has closely monitored feedback and diagnostic data from Windows Insiders. "If we detect that your device may have an issue, such as an application incompatibility, we will not install the update until that issue is resolved, even if you 'Check for updates, ' so you avoid encountering any related problems", Cable said.

Windows 10 version 1809 also can be actively downloaded. There'll be no nag messages (hooray!) and so users will need to check Windows Update to see if it's even available - don't mistake it for the Patch Tuesday updates.
