And now we know that when the time comes to fork out for a cinema ticket and a large popcorn, we'll be getting our money's worth. Numerous reports have pointed to November being the month that Marvel finally gives us what we've been asking for for far too long now, but co-director Joe Russo has just struck fear into the hearts of millions of fans thanks to a Q&A he held earlier today.

However, Russo added that they still have a long way to go on finishing up the movie. During an Instagram chat with fans co-director Joe Russo, who was promoting his new bar Duello in LA, said, "The running time on Avengers 4 is now sitting right at three hours".

When asked if the movie was already in the post-production stage, Russo answered that the movie's team was halfway through the editing process, and were "scratching the surface on our VFX (visual effects) shots".

Joe, who directs the franchise with brother Anthony, was speaking on Instagram live to promote his new bar Duello when he revealed how Avengers 4 is, as it stands, the longest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "We've just started work with Alan Silvestri (the movie's composer) on the score, and we're still editing picture at this point". Yes, the first Avengers 4 trailer - and most likely, its title, too - should be on the internet pretty soon. "Absolutely. 100 percent", Russo said. "We like it to play at a certain pace".

Infinity War, which was released earlier this year, was the previous holder of the longest MCU film at 2 hours and 29 minutes. I mean, the highest of any of the films to date.
