Roessler's departure was first broken by Joel Sherman of the New York Post, marking the third consecutive season the Mets will have a different hitting coach.

New Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen said yesterday that the world's most famous minor leaguer, Tim Tebow, has been hitting multiple times per week.

This could be the ideal opportunity for Amaro Jr.to resurrect his career.

Van Wagenen, who will be replacing Sandy Alderson as Mets GM following his first career as a sports agent, announced Tebow will begin next season at the Triple-A level playing for the Syracuse Mets and is now just one move shy of making a Major League Baseball roster. (1st Base Coach) and Gary Disarcina (Bench Coach) is still to be decided.

With these announcements, the Mets' new hire has seemed to dive head first into his General Manager duties.

I am a fan of the shakeup as I believe that success is built from the bottom up.

"At this point we want to identify where our greatest needs are and make sure we are putting our best people in that position", Van Wagenen said.

Roessler was promoted to hitting coach from assistant when Kevin Long left for Washington after the 2017 season.

Now, the lack of production is not all Roessler's fault.

Van Wagenen attended the Arizona Fall League All-Star Game last weekend, met with player development staff and scouts, and also had dinner with Mets prospect Peter Alonso, who homered in the game on a 103 miles per hour pitch from Toronto's Nate Pearson. Does this mean that launch angle will be coming to Queens with their new hitting coach?

Bones had been the Mets' bullpen coach since 2012, when he arrived as part of a shakeup to manager Terry Collins' staff.
