Unsurprisingly, Kohli's response has invoked both ridicule and anger, with fans and others saying that his answer was not sportsmen-like.

He first read out the tweet that said: "Over-rated batsman and personally I see nothing special in his batting".

(Web Desk) - Indian skipper Virat Kohli is being heavily trolled on social media sites after he asked a fan to "leave India" over not liking Indian batsmen.

One person had said that Kohli is overrated and that it is more enjoyable to watch batsmen from Australia and England. The video was released on Kohli's own app, and showed him responding to Twitter and Instagram comments made about him. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries?

Replying to the message, Kohli asked the cricket fan to go live somewhere else if he liked batsmen from elsewhere.

In the meantime, Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian cricketer and current president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), is confident that India will be able to roll their opponents over without much fuss. But I don't mind you not liking me but I don't think you should live in our country and like other things.

Kohli launched his mobile app on his 30th birthday on November 5. He also crossed the 10,000-run mark this year and surpassed legendary Sachin Tendulkar becoming the fastest batsman in the history of the sport to do so.
