Jack White has taken to social media to condemn an incident at his recent Canadian show, where two female concertgoers were forcibly prevented from kissing each other. He ended by saying, "Let's promote love and acceptance wherever and whenever we can".

The women were told by the usher: "If you have a problem with that you can speak to my manager". See the photo and White's full statement below.

"The song finished, we put on our coats, and the young woman marched proudly and righteously in front of us to the manager's office, as if we were being taken to the office at school".

MacIvor said she was upset that "we still live in a world where I have to watch my back as a "gay" woman".

Rogers Place addressed the situation in a Facebook comment on their own photo post of the concert, stating that they are investigating the incident.

CTV News obtained a statement from the Oilers Entertainment Group, which operates Rogers Place, that acknowledged MacIvor's complaint and said there would be an investigation. White also revealed that he encouraged everyone in the audience to kiss their loved ones during the Calgary performance of "Love Interruption".

MacIvor wrote on Facebook that she was caught up in the moment, listening to one of her favourite songs, when she grabbed her friend and kissed her.

"I wish there was a camera to capture the look on my face when she said this". I'm not allowed to kiss her here?

"I was like, 'Excuse me, what do you mean?'" MacIvor added. "A fun moment on a handsome night".

"For kissing you? This is so f*cked" I kept saying to my friend.

In her post, the fan claimed the worker pulled her aside and shook her finger disapprovingly, telling MacIvor "That's not allowed here", because it was "inappropriate sexual behaviour".

She continued, "what we need is for someone to take her, a manager, Roger's Place to take this employee and support them, ask questions and educate them".
