The Brewers will counter with left-hander Wade Miley, who held the Dodgers scoreless over 5 2/3 innings in Game 2. Miley didn't appear injured and no one really knew why the left-hander's outing was cut short before being replaced by right-hander Brandon Woodruff. He says the Dodgers' play in Game 1 was "unacceptable" and the Brewers "put us against the wall early and never looked back!"

More than five hours after it started, Cody Bellinger delivered a game-winning single to right field, and he still had enough energy to take the Los Angeles Dodgers' celebration all the way to left field.

The Dodgers are 20-7 in their last 27 games overall. But, with the suspicion placed upon the Astros in the American League Championship Series where the Red Sox and Indians alleged Houston was using video to do it, it has become a hot-button topic. Will they announce him as the starter for Game 7 if they win, and he only works one batter again? "One person inside the organization said that on videos of the games, a coach could be seen running from the hallway into the Dodgers' dugout whenever a runner reached second base".

Clayton Kershaw #22 of the Los Angeles Dodgers throws to the plate during the fifth inning against Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium on April 15, 2018 in Los Angeles, California.

"There's a bunch of guys we need offense from", Milwaukee manager Craig Counsel said.

"It's unimaginable that we're this close to the World Series", said Steldt.

After Ryan Braun walked two batters after Cain's RBI double, Kershaw (1-1) retired the final 13 batters he faced.

Curtis Granderson hit an RBI double in the ninth. Miley hasn't given up a run in 10 1/3 innings this postseason. Kershaw had his best performance of this postseason, limiting the Brewers to a run and three hits while striking out nine.

Yelich, who almost won the NL Triple Crown this season, was hitless in four at-bats.

"It was huge to get there to third base, less than two outs, give us a shot to do some things", Barnes said of Taylor.

Los Angeles extended the lead to 5-1 in the seventh on Turner's RBI single that scored Kershaw, who walked, and pinch-hitter Brian Dozier's RBI groundout. They would be the first team in franchise history to do so since 1977-78, and the first NL club to make back-to-back appearances in the World Series since the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008 and 2009. But All-Star reliever Josh Hader had pitched three innings the night before and didn't pitch in Game 2.
