Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he could be gone from his job by next week after saying his players are facing something "like a trauma" following their poor results. All the decisions are our decisions and of course always with the club until the end.

"The only way we can stop that (questioning and criticism) is by winning games, and if we don't win everyone is going to criticise more than now", the Argentine added.

Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: "You have to go back to April 1983 for the last time Brighton beat Spurs and I expect a much-improved performance from Spurs than the one who played so poorly at Wembley last weekend". In football, something can happen with the situation but I am going to give my best until the end.

The Lilywhites are preparing to travel to The Amex looking to bounce back to winning ways after they suffered a disappointing 2-1 loss to Inter Milan in their Champions League group stage opener on Tuesday night.

Pochettino also stated that Hugo Lloris will be out of the Brighton clash after failing to recover from his thigh injury, and raised the possibility that the stress of his recent arrest for drink driving may have contributed to the problem.

"I think he was under stress during the game against Manchester United", Pochettino told reporters. "In that stress, maybe it created that injury.

To compete after what happened was a massive stress for him".

At the last count, Spurs have suffered three consecutive defeats as they tackle Brighton in a dicey away trip on Saturday, September 22, before battling Watford again in a Carabao Cup tie after losing their first tie in the EPL 11 days ago.

Christian Eriksen opened the scoring for the visitors via a deflected shot, with the Danish star sending the ball looping over the outstretched hand of Handanovic before dropping in under the bar.
